CONE BEAM CT 3D IMAGING
As dental professionals, our ability to diagnose and treat is only as good as our ability to see, which is why we take x-rays. Most x-rays are flat and 2-dimensional. Although they provide useful information, sometimes it is not enough. Meadowbrook Family Dental offers the latest technology to provide the best care and treatment possible. Along with diagnosis, the CBCT allows us to be more precise with the placement of dental implants.
DIGITAL IMPLANT PLANNING
Paired with the 3D technology of CBCT imaging, we can now virtually plan your case, which allows us to know where to place it before we actually place it. Through digital planning software, we are able to determine angulation of an implant placement, the size of implant to use, and the location of vital structures in 3-dimensions. The additional information and planning in the software provides for a better experience and outcome for our patients.
ITERO ELEMENT 2 INTRAORAL SCANNER
The Itero Element 2 digital scanner allows the doctor to take a 3D digital scan of the patient's teeth and bite, make any adjustments in real-time, then transmit the file wirelessly for processing. The benefits are better fitting crowns and Invisalign aligners, shorter Invisalign treatment times due to better fitting aligners, digital impressions vs "goopy" impressions, and you get to view a virtual outcome simulator for Invisalign within minutes.
Capturing and manipulating the data on a computer is only part of the equation. The fabrication process is the part where the rubber meets the road, or plastic meets the teeth. 3D printing has gained a foothold in dentistry like never before, replacing stone study models and enabling us to fabricate appliances within our practice such as implant surgical guides and nightguards using FDA-approved resins.
NOMAD 2 & DIGITAL X-RAYS
X-rays have come a long way since the days when we would need to hide behind walls in order to push the button. Digital x-rays taken with our Nomad hand-held x-ray unit emit such low amounts of radiation that assistants are allowed to take them while in the room.
When the soft tissue lining your mouth need small corrections, lasers provide a gentle correction. Quiet but powerful light energy helps us treat a number of dental conditions safely and simply.
A picture explains what words never can, especially when it comes to your teeth. An intraoral camera can take pictures with such detail, it can show cracks and stress marks that can't be seen with the naked eye.
